Holiday Wishes for EVERYONE!

This time of year always makes me feel so happy! Shopping around, holiday decor, family gatherings, special time with my little man... It all means the world to me. The only thing I wish for was some colder weather here in the fabulous MIA. One day someday I will have that "White Christmas" all the other states sing of.. Aside from that, it is a picture perfect time of year for me. I hope that this year, you all enjoy it as much as I do, if not more!

These two love birds are quite the pair! They are adorable, funny, good looking and know how to have a good time. I couldn't have been any more enthusiastic when Tyler contacted me about shooting their rehearsal dinner. They and their family know how to throw a party! They had salsa instructors, mojitos, cigars, and some good choice in music. It was a night they wouldn't forget and I was happy to be there and capture the moments.

It was truly the perfect night with an amazing view.

Priscila is such a fun loving spirit! We had such a great time on her shoot. Before anything, we discussed a few ideas. She's knows I'm all about incorporating personality into my sessions, so she came ready with a list of things she loves. We talked a bit before and even more during the shoot. What I wanted was to make sure that her bright and cheerful personality showed through. I know I had plenty of fun and from the looks of the pictures so did she.

Andy's Monster Birthday Bash!!

This was such a non stop fun birthday!! I know... I usually say that about all my events (and I really mean it), but honestly this one was NONSTOP! The party was held in Miami's Science museum. Guests began to arrive at 3:00, there was music and treats galore to keep them entertained... Then activities around the entire facility, a costume contest, bounce house, a halloween show and haunted house!!! Andy's 7th birthday was one for the books. Hope you and the family enjoyed your party as much as I did Andy. Thanks for having me!!

A Picture Perfect Wedding for Nubia and Patrick

I love how weddings express the personality of the couple. Nubia and Patrick are the most laid back couple. Their day was a perfect reflection of the two of them. It could not have gone more beautifully. The feeling was so personal and intimate. They shared their special day with their closest family and friends. Nubia was the complete polar opposite of the infamous bridezilla title. All she wanted was a day to share with those closest to the both of them and for me to be there to capture those memorable moments. Patrick... took a little getting use to the camera, but after a few jokes during their portrait session, he loosened up. It was almost as if he forgot I was even there!

Going to the ballet is such a treat. The story, emotions, dancing... I love it all!

Recently, I was honored with the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami and do what I love to do. That in itself, was more than enough to make me happy. To add the frosting on the cake, I was told that one of my photos would be used in an add for their 2010 season premier of Sleeping Beauty.

May I just start off by saying how much fun I had shooting this wedding?!? Before I met Yami and Luis, I liked the idea of shooting weddings... Now I LOVE IT! They are such a down to earth couple. We sat to talk before the big day and they described their vision of what they wanted their day to be. Something intimate with close relatives was their first response... Then a night filled with all those they love, laughter and good ol' fun. All of the components that made me fall in love with photography in the first place.

It was such a treat to have experienced my first wedding with such a great couple willing to do anything fun for a great shot.

So good to be back sharing what I love most with all of you! Plenty of things have been going on, which means plenty of pictures to post. Although I won't be posting many pictures today, I did want to introduce the newest little member of my inspirations.

Back in the beginning of April, I posted shower pictures for a friend of mine. She was celebrating the arrival of a baby girl that is finally here! Carla gave birth to the beautiful Casey Annah on April 21st. She's delicate like a flower and yummy as can be!

Last weekend I had the privilege of photographing Alfonso and Rosita's 50th Anniversary Party. They are two of a kind and a wonderful couple. That's it! 18 more days and that name on the wall will officially be heard by those precious little baby ears. She will be the first little girl we get to shower with love in our group of friends. My dear friend Carla is on her third pregnancy and after two extra doses of rough and tough in the house, she's finally adding a touch of softness to the mix.

To celebrate the long await of the first of our next generation of girlies, the girls showered the momma-to-be and baby Casey with a touch of femininity. Everything turned out beautifully and momma couldn't have been happier.

There were even some interesting games going on like this one... I don't even know how to explain. lol

“La Isla del Encanto”

I was just recently informed that the island of Puerto Rico is called the "Enchanted Isle." I can whole heartedly agree with it. My eyes, my camera and my family were all "enchanted" while on our stay there. Especially on our hike in El Yunque.

As soon as we completed one of the trails, we made a quick stop for a bite to eat. Here's one of the employees working on a fresh "coco frio."

We ended up back in Old San Juan, where we came across this street performer. He was quite the entertainer.

I wasn't planning on putting up any personal pictures of the family, but I couldn't resist the smile Logan had on his face here.

Puerto Rico

What a beautiful city! The perfect location for a vacation and for picture taking.

Puerto Rico has such a variety of outdoor activities to please just about anyone. From the history buffs, to the athletic, and especially those that love to sit back and relax. The island breeze is just right to keep you out and about the entire day. I'm happy to be able to share some of the sites I was able to enjoy in Old San Juan on my three day get-a-way to the island.

I'm a little inspired by my day at the ranch this past Sunday. ;) I was invited to a photo workshop by a friend of mine which happened to be held in a ranch located in Plantation. We spent four hours in the beaming sun, but it flew by as if it was only 15 minutes. Although I won't be sharing any of the model pictures yet, I will be posting some of the random shots I took as I waited and walked around.

Happy Birthday to Sebastian!!! He just turned a whopping six years old! To celebrate, his parents hosted a party filled with nothing but fun. They did an amazing job of keeping things entertaining for the kids. Everyone was running around with a smile on their face the entire day.

Logan had his first bowling experience this weekend and it was so much fun!! I knew he would have a good time, but I really didn't think he would enjoy it as much as he did. His face lit up as soon as we walked into the bowling alley and he couldn't wait until it was his turn. Can't wait to do it again soon. In the mean time, I'll just have to enjoy reminiscing through the pictures.

It's All About the Love

And boy do I believe it... The moment I walked into the room, I felt every bit of it. The excitement and joy that all of Maytee and John's family and friends were expressing as they arrived for the shower was so wonderful. The entire shower was filled with hugging, laughing, cheering and talking. The games were hilarious and so was everyone there. It was a great time celebrating the soon to be marriage of the happy couple and I'm glad I could be there to share.

I thought it was adorable that John showed up with Maytee to greet the family!

A New Year Resolution in the Works...

Yep! It's that time of year. The time of year when you're making that list you hope to not break. This year, I have that opportunity of sharing it with more people. More of a reason to keep me on track. So thanks everyone! :)

Now, onto one of our new year goals. This year, instead of doing the usual, "I want to lose at least ten pounds", we decided as a group that we wanted to start planning more outdoorsy activities. I'd like to think we're off to a good start! So far, one of my friends Cristina has been training for a half marathon coming up at the end of the month. I was so proud of her and inspired by her that I have also decided to give it a try and get my body ready for the next one! We've also, gone kayaking and this past weekend we played a little paint ball. Not sure what the rest of the year has in store for us, but I hope the good times keep coming. In honor of our 2009 goal, I will be posting as many of our weekend activities possible. I had to keep my baby away from the water for our first group activity, but nothing stopped it from making it's way around this weekend!

When I first saw Zoe, I fell in love. Not only is she one of the most adorable little girls I have ever seen, but she is so sweet and happy. A dream come true and a perfect little model. I had so much fun playing around with her at the park. She kept me on my toes and I loved every minute of it. Thanks mom and dad for choosing me to shoot Zoe's first birthday photos!

of my San Francisco trip that is! The final day of our trip included a visit to the amazing California Academy of Science Museum. There were so many interesting things to see and learn about. My favorite of course were the animals found in the four story rain forest ecosystem dome. I absolutely love all the colors!

Before it got dark, Luis made sure I was able to stop by the Japanese Tea Garden. We got there literally seconds before they closed the gate. I wasn't given much time to take it all in, but it was enough to make me happy! :)

So the holidays have had me a little out of the norm with my weekly routine, but it's all over now! Between today and tomorrow, I will be wrapping up my San Fran adventures! Day three of our trip we headed out to Alcatraz, then did a little sightseeing in Chinatown.

As we walked back to our hotel, we passed by a bakery that had these adorably shaped sour dough breads! It's smelled just as good as they look...

Going out of town was great, but can you tell I missed blogging a bit?

As I mentioned in yesterdays post, my next few post will include pictures from my trip to San Francisco. Day two on our trip was a day of relaxation. Not much walking was involved, just a lot of wine, cheese, and bread. If you haven't already guessed it, we headed out to the famous Napa Valley!

The day started off with a 9:00 am ferry ride. I thought it would be a little early for wining, but by the time we got to drinking, in Miami time, it was just right! ;)

As we waited for our ride, bird man Luis decided it would be a good idea to feed the birds... All he needed was to bust out in song and tell me the food was "toppins a bag" (refer to one of my childhood favorite movies Mary Poppins). It was pretty funny to see such a big galute playing around with the birds, so I of course took advantage of the moment like I always do!

It's been a little longer than usual, since my last post. With good reason of course ;). Luis (my husband) and I headed out to the GORGEOUS San Francisco this past week. It was such an incredible trip filled with so many yummy photo spots! I took waaaaay too many pictures to pick and choose for one post, so what I have decided on doing is sharing them according to our daily activities. My heart is out of control with excitement and joy to be able to share this experience with all of you.

This little stud Dylan was such a trooper! I had him moving, changing, sitting, laying, doing all kinds of crazy things and all he needed was a ten minute break for some grub. Unfortunately, the weather was not as easy to work with, so I wasn't able to take him out for a nice stroll in the park. He didn't let it get to him though! He was such a good sport, his smile brightened up the room so much, I almost forgot how much I love taking pictures outdoors!

Working with little ones is such an incredible experience... You say and do the strangest things just to make them laugh. Sofie was no exception, she had me breaking glasses with my horrible "Old Mc Donald" singing voice, throwing myself on the floor, and playing the oh so famous "peek-a-boo." Boy was it worth it though. Getting to see the smile on her face was priceless! Here are a few of my favorites from my session with her.

Our session was cut short when the princess got a little sleepy, but before I headed off, you know I had to sneak one last shot in.

At least in my heart it is! A day after Christmas five years ago, I received the BEST present that anyone could ever ask for. My then teeny, tiny son Logan. ::Sigh:: I still can't believe he's already turning five!

The holidays for me are a chance to let my inner child out. I love seeing Logan's bright smile as we decorate the Christmas tree, listen to holiday music, the smell of the Christmas tree, put up decorations, plan gingerbread house parties with our friends, celebrate "Noche Buena" with the family, leave milk and cookies for Santa, open presents, and even the crazy task of shopping for the perfect presents!

I'm already in that Christmas spirit, so today I decided to take Logan out to the beach for our traditional holiday card photo session. I know.. I know... Most of you are wondering "why the beach?" but living in Miami provides a different take on winters. We don't get much snow down here, instead, we have plenty of sand! It's a great way to express a little more of our Miami life-style. I hope to post some more for you all soon, but for now, hope you enjoy my little sneak peek. :)

I just can't get enough of these guys! My heart fills up with SO much joy whenever I am around them. My camera rarely ever leaves my side those days I am with them. Can you blame me though?

What a week!

I was planning to send a little Happy Halloween wish out to everyone before the day actually arrived, but I got caught up with some holiday festivities for Logan... Hope everyone enjoyed their sugar rush week/weekend. I know I did!!

Our fall celebration was kicked off on Wednesday. Melissa (my sister in-law) and I took Logan over to the pumpkin patch. Not much was left to chose from, but we did have a good time chasing after Logan as he posed in a few of the picture spots the location had to offer....

Before we left, Logan found a pumpkin he wanted to take for his pumpkin carving... It was a little heavy, but he insisted on lifting it on his own.

Thursday we did some baking and pumpkin carving. I had a lot going on in the kitchen that day, so it was a bit difficult for me to escape. I did get take a few little shots though.

And I was able to catch Alex (Logan's Godfather) goofing around for a sec.

Then came Halloween. Logan's always wanting to fight his "Tio Oigo," so tio... This one's for you!

Here are a few of the happy trick or treaters..

Finally... Sunday... Oh Sunday. I'll tell you this much. It was a Sunday to remember! After six.. Yes... you read right... SIX LOOOONG hours of waiting in line, we got our votes in! Luckily... my in-laws were all there to keep things interesting.

The past few days made for some fun times. I hope you all feel the same. Hopefully you all got your votes in. If you haven't already, make sure you find the time tomorrow!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, in hopes that you won't have to wait even half as long as we did. ;)

Congratulations to Amber and Iff! The proud parents welcomed their first baby boy, Lucas, into this crazy world on Sunday October 19th. The little guy was already working the camera days after birth. I couldn't have asked for a better super model!

Hialeah High Class of 1998 Reunion

When I was asked to photograph an event revolving completely around memories, you know I couldn't refuse. I am so glad that I didn't miss out on the opportunity. It was a night filled with good music, drinks, and plenty of socializing. The way every high school reunion should be. Except, this one was a little outside of the box. It wasn't held at your typical reunion spot (hotel). This gang lucked out and had their's at a bar! I loved the idea and think that more reunions should be planned the same way.

GREAT GRANDMA'S Birthday

My great grandmother turned 94 this year! Can you believe that? 94! Well if you saw her on the street, you wouldn't think it. She is one special lady in our family. We had to celebrate twice! She had a surprise lunch planned for her the weekend before her actual birthday. Her eyes lit up the moment she walked into the restaurant and remained that way the rest of the day.

What a day! Melissa and Alex finally had their dream come true! I feel so very blessed and honored to have been a part of such a special moment in their lives. The day was SPECTACULAR!! I wish I could have had my camera with me to capture every minute of it, but I was just as happy to be included in their wedding party. Of course, that didn't stop me from making my way around with the camera and capturin

g some beautiful memories.

The night before the wedding we stayed with the bride to be and helped tie up all the last minute details. Each of us had a few words of advice for the bride and with my camera always by my side, I was able to capture one of the girls sneaking off to write. Melissa is a big fan of vintage, so I added some details she would appreciate in the post-processing.

After months of preparation the nerves and anxiousness kicked in. We did everything we could think of to help calm our sweet Melly... Even left her a reminder with an inside joke.

She really could not even dream of a more perfect day. Thanks for all the great memories Mel!

My first set of goodies!

Since summer has officially ended, I thought it would only be appropriate to share a few of my beach going faves. As an added treat, it will be featuring my main inspiration. These little men give me so many wonderful memories. I can't get enough of them! That's why I've decided that my first picture post will be dedicated to them.

Meet Logan... He's the ruler of my heart and has been even before the day he was born.

This is Tyler. His smile could light up any world! Just wait until I can get one of those pictures posted. You'll see.

This guy right here. He's Lucas. He's one of the toughest little guys you'll ever meet!

Adrian here is the oldest from the bunch. Like most kids around this age, he is full of energy. Always ready for fun and excitement and I'm just glad I can be around to share.

First off, I'd like to welcome you to my very first blog! I'm so excited about creating this page and giving you a look at the world through my eyes... I've become quite fond of looking at other blogs lately. I figured I should jump in on the fun too! So here I am excited about anything and everything that I will be able to share.

As you will soon find out, I'm all about expressions. I love being in the moment, living it, and being able to capture as many of those special memories possible. The best way to do that? PHOTOGRAPHY of course! But it's not just picture taking or a hobby like most would consider. It's a PASSION. It's a passion that I get to include with all my loves... Family, friends, activities, holidays, you name it! Most of my days are spent behind the camera capturing the emotions around me and now I get to share them with you.
